Sizes to know before buying
48 mm width and the term “2-inch tape”
Shops in Thailand often call tape of this width “2-inch tape”, but if converted directly, a full 2 inches equals 50.8 mm. This product uses 48 mm as the main value, which is about 2.8 mm narrower than a full 2 inches. If you need the exact width, look at the 48 mm number.
How many meters is 20 yards in length?
1 yard equals 0.9144 m, so 20 yards × 0.9144 = 18.288 m This number comes from unit conversion calculation, not a measurement from the actual roll.
What kind of use is it suitable for?
- Sealing parcel box flaps or packages before sending to customers
- Putting a Thank You message on packaging to say thank you to the receiver
- Choose this when you want red tape instead of clear or brown tape
The Thank You message on the tape is just a way to say thank you on the package. The shop does not guarantee that it will increase customer satisfaction, sales, or repeat orders.
How to measure tape width
- Pull out a little bit of tape and lay it flat on a smooth surface without stretching or twisting it
- Place a ruler or vernier caliper with a mm scale straight across the tape edges
- Read the value from one edge to the other, and repeat the measurement in 2–3 spots
- Compare with the 48 mm value, allowing for a small difference from the tool and measuring method
Estimate the number of rolls needed
The tape used per box depends on the box size and how each shop seals it, so you should calculate from the actual measured length
- Seal 1 box the way you normally do, then measure the total length of all tape strips in meters
- Take 18.288 ÷ tape length per box = approximate number of boxes per 1 roll, then round down
- Take the number of boxes to send ÷ number of boxes per roll = number of rolls needed, then round up
- Keep some spare rolls for tape that gets miscut or needs re-sealing
| Step | Example |
|---|---|
| Measured tape length per box | Say 0.60 m |
| Number of boxes per 1 roll | 18.288 ÷ 0.60 ≈ 30.48, so that's about 30 boxes |
| Need to ship 100 boxes | 100 ÷ 30 ≈ 3.33, so you'll use about 4 rolls |
